1891 Half Dollar

At the Colorado Springs Coin Show, I don’t expect a lot of Seated Liberty (or capped bust) coins to show up, certainly not in higher grades.  Nevertheless, I was only six tables in before I struck gold.  (And blew out my checking account, but that’s a minor matter…)

This half dollar is graded PCGS MS-64 with a CAC sticker, so it’s a good thing the slab is in pretty good shape and doesn’t need reholdering.  It exhibits that kind of toning that one bystander told me was the sort you would get from an old oak cabinet.

A post-arrows half dollar should have been an easy coin to find, but it sure took me a while.

The only major flaw with the coin seems to be the field damage by the UNI in United.
